Frequently Asked Questions

Here is a page with MANY questions people frequently ask me, compiled onto a page for easier searching and putting it all together! Questions are separated by categories, such as art, streaming, and webmastery.

I highly recommend reading everything on this page before asking me any questions! It's not that I'll be grouchy if you do ask, but your question(s) may already be answered here. Thank you so much for reading!

Is there a question you want to ask that's not posted here? Feel free to reach out to me via my guestbook on the homepage, or e-mail me at mavisdeluna@gmail.com! I don't bite, and I love helping others.

Website Creation & Webmastery

Q: How did you make this website?

A: Originally, I built a webpage with SadGrl's Layout Builder and was inspired by NomNomNami. I eventually used PetraPixel's Layout Generator for the homepage with iframes.

Now, I've coded this site entirely from scratch, but I DID use PetraPixel's Grid Tutorial to learn and understand how CSS Grid works for the homepage. I 100% recommend these tutorials if you're a beginner! While I personally recommend the grid, Petra has other tutorials on this page that you may find helpful!

Other pages were coded by hand and from the ground up, while being inspired by other webmasters and studying their work/how they put it together. My inspos and other cool websites can be found on my button wall! I also used Phoenix Code (thanks Nami!) to put the website together in real-time.

Q: Can you help me make a website?

A: Unfortunately, I can't! I don't have the time. But I do have a resources page in the works, and you can check out multiple communities that have individuals willing to help or troubleshoot. I can point you to several resources that I used to learn my own coding skills:

  • 32bit Cafe - Plenty of resources available, as well as a page on creating your own website and a Discord community FULL of other webmasters who are very kind and awesome about helping. I've received help here more than once.
  • PetraPixel's CSS Positioning Tutorial - This helped me learn CSS Grid. The page also breaks down other methods, including Flexbox and more.
  • SadGrl's Layout Builder - Good for beginners and if you want a base to work with.
  • PetraPixel's Layout Generator - Same as above! This one has more options that you might like.
  • Let's Make a Website by Nolnir - An in-depth tutorial about HTML and CSS, that even shares tips for website design!

Q: Do you use social media?

A: Yes, I do! I use it for keeping in touch with online pals, and sharing what I do outside of this website.

However, this website is the best way to keep in touch with everything I do these days! You can find my social media links on the left-hand side of my homepage and this page! It's under "external links."

Q: How can I support you as an artist and creator?

A: Great question! Here's several ways you can support me:

  • I stream on Twitch and YouTube 3 days a week (sometimes 4), and you can watch my streams or subscribe.
  • I post weekly vlogs to my YouTube. You could totally watch those!
  • I have a Ko-Fi page for any tips or donations.
  • My VGen is where I take art commissions.
  • You can also follow me on BlueSky!
  • I also have a shop, and you can subscribe to my Patreon!

Q: I don't have money - how else can I support you?

A: First, please don't be hard on yourself for not being able to support creators monetarily! It's okay, and we understand.

Second, you can watch my streams and participate in chat, or lurk if you're shy. You can share my posts on BlueSky. You can leave nice comments on my posts. You can join my Discord server.

There's plenty of ways to support a creator for free, and we appreciate all of them!

Q: I'm a minor. Why don't you want me following you or interacting with you?

A: Short answer: I am in my 30s and have no interest interacting with individuals half my age.

I do exist in spaces where minors are present, such as the Transing the Internet Discord server. However, minors shouldn't be DMing me or partaking in my streams as those are 18+ spaces

You are more than welcome to browse this website, but please respect any and all of my spaces that are 18+. As someone who grew up with unsupervised access to the internet, it's for your safety more than anything.

Fan Content Policy, Fan Art, Gift Art, etc.

Q: Do you accept fanart of your VTuber and/or OCs?

A: Yes, that's totally fine! Just please portray them respectfully.

My only firm boundary on this is that anything you make must 100% be made by you. AI-generated slop will be put into the incinerator where it belongs.

If you post it to BlueSky, be sure to tag it as #MavisDeLunART so I can see it!

Q: Can I create your VTuber/OCs in a video game with customizable characters?

A: No.

Q: Can I commission another artist to draw your characters as a gift?

A: While I appreciate the kind gesture and the offer, I am not comfortable with this. The answer is no.

Q: Can I draw your VTuber/OCs with other characters?

A: Ask me first.

You are always welcome to draw my VTuber/main OC with the Pokémon Clefairy, since it's my favorite!

Q: What about fanfic or cosplay of your characters?

A: I don't feel comfortable with the idea of others writing my characters, so it's a no from me.

As for cosplay, this is also a no; I'm just not comfortable with the idea.

Q: What about NSFW fan content?

A: This is a hard no unless I commission someone, or the artist is a friend of mine.

Please don't make NSFW content of my creative works without my consent or permission. I'm an independent artist, not a franchise owner or megacorp.

Additionally, just because I draw this content with my characters myself, doesn't mean it's okay for others to do. My art is for me to express myself safely and on my own terms.

Q: Can I make you a VTuber model?

A: This is very kind and sweet, but a VTuber model is a huge project and I don't feel comfortable accepting something like that for free. I'd rather pay a skilled human artist!

As of April 2025, I also drew and rigged my own VTuber model.

Art, Drawing, Creativity, etc.

Q: What tools do you use to make your art?

A: I use Clip Studio Paint EX with an XP Pen Artist 15.6 Pro tablet!

I also have an iPad Pro (12.9in) with an Apple Pencil, using Clip Studio on iOS.

Q: What brushes do you use when you draw?

A: Lately, I've been using a copy of the Binary Pen from Paint Tool SAI.

I actually have my own brush set that I use most, but you can download plenty of other cool brushes from Clip Studio Assets!

I also recommend NekoRina's Brush Sets - I've used the fancy brush pack and love the "Opacity Pencil" brush.

Q: Do you take commissions?

A: Yes! Check my VGen for updates and commission openings!

Q: Do you take requests or art trades?

A: No to both of these. Sorry, I work and don't have much free time!

Q: How long have you been drawing?

A: I've been drawing since I could pick up a drawing utensil. However, these days I prefer digital art over drawing on paper. Digital art is more accessible and works better for me!

Q: Can I post your art on my page (with credit)?

A: Please do not reupload my creative work on any platform, even with credit, unless you are a client sharing work you've commissioned from me.

If you follow me on social media apps that allow you to use built-in reshares, doing that is fine and gives me visibility.

Q: How do you feel about AI-generated art?

A: I do not support generative AI. It's soulless and steals from hardworking creatives, and it can't even get hands right. How does that saying go? Count the fingers, count the teeth...

Streaming, VTubing, Content Creation, Videos, etc.

Q: How long have you been streaming?

A: I streamed full-time from January 2021 to May 2024 (lost my job during the pandemic era), then got a full-time job in August 2024. I left in February 2025 due to realizing it wasn't for me - NO job is worth my mental health.

Now I'm continuing to pursue freelance art and full-time streaming. It's going well so far!

Q: Are you sponsored/partnered with anyone?

A: Yes! I'm a Twitch Partner, so I have the shiny purple checkmark on that site.

You can also check out my Media Kit for more information and my current partnerships!

Q: What streaming software do you use?

A: I use OBS Studio to broadcast my streams, with this plugin for multistreaming to Twitch and YouTube.

Additional programs I use are BikuBot, Spotify, and Mix It Up.

Q: How do I become a VTuber like you?

A: I plan on making a tutorial for VTubers in the future, but for now consider checking out this playlist for info!

You can also watch this playlist for VStreamer tips.

Q: Are you available for stream collabs?

A: Yes! However, I want to get to know collab partners before streaming with them and will do offline gaming or hangout sessions to get a feel for our cooperative chemistry.

If things go well, we can definitely move forward into livestreaming collabs!
