I spent all day coding...
With the recent events going on in the United States and TikTok being "banned," (not going to get into the rest of it honestly... iykyk) I realized that social media can be taken from us in the blink of an eye.
I saw it with Twitter (I REFUSE to call that shit "X"), many of us saw it with TikTok. As much as I like BlueSky, I realize the "old web" has way more perks and I have way more control over my space. It's nicer that way. I think this is good for me.
This gives me a nice little project to do on the side, even if it does take hours at a time. It's something I can sink time into when I have nothing else to do; I'm that type of person that always feels like there's something to update, really. Something to tweak, something to mess with, something to add.
I'm honestly so impressed by other people's creativity on here. I've seen some of the COOLEST layouts and things built from scratch, and it made me realize my HTML and CSS skills... kind of suck, lol. I definitely wish I had the time, money, and energy to take a class on it, or something! I would love nothing more than to be able to do this without having to reference help websites constantly. So far, though, everything's looking good, and I can't complain.
I can at least say I got my blog page done. That's a win. A HUGE win, because messing around with the CSS alone on this thing was a lot for me, and I feel like I overcame a huge obstacle. Much love to NomNomNami and SadGrl for the layout and inspiration. (Nami's was the one I was inspired by. I'll definitely be keeping up with their site, because they are talented and skilled beyond belief.)
